Blues News with John Ward – Australian Guitar

Claude Hay returns from three months of sold shows in USA and France to come home and make a new guitar that will feature on his next album due out in 2012. This is no ordinary guitar though, as it’s fashioned out of a baking tray! Hay has included a bass string as well as four pick ups; one condensor microphone, one Piezo Bridge pickup, one tele bridge pickup and an EMG pickup. It’s a cross between a resonator, an acoustic and a tele with a bass option. The perfect tool for a one-man band. Hay started recording his next album at the legendary Sun Studios in Memphis, and now, armed with his new baby (called Stella), the rest of the album will ensue, due out mid 2012.

Claude Hay Featured on NPR, Hits Highs on Charts

128 Records artist Claude Hay has been tearing it up lately, hitting the top ten on the Billboard Blues chart, top five on the MediaGuide radio airplay chart, and making top five in sales on both iTunes and Amazon MP3. He also did well on the Roots Music Report blues chart, shooting up to #21 worldwide and #1 in his native Australia.

A bit more fantastic was the feature on NPR’s Weekend Edition, where Claude talked about his album Deep Fried Satisfied, his music, and his love of fried food. Look for Claude to be coming to the USA and Europe in the Spring of 2011!
